36 Hershey’s Kisses Milk Chocolate
½ cup Shortening
¾ cup Creamy Peanut Butter
⅓ cup Packed Light Brown Sugar
⅓ cup Granulated Sugar
2 tbsp. Whole Milk
1 tsp. Vanilla Extract
1 ½ cup All-Purpose Flour
1 tsp. Baking Soda
½ tsp. Salt
Get your Gateway Drum up to 375ºF, but do not put any wood in the fire box.
Beat shortening and peanut butter in a large bowl.
Add the granulated and brown sugar; beat until fluffy, then add in the egg, milk, and vanilla; beat well.
In a separate bowl stir together the flour, baking soda, and salt and gradually beat into your mixture.
Shape the dough into 1 inch balls, roll each in a bowl of sugar and place on a greased cookie sheet.
Put the sheet on the top rack of your Gateway for 8-10 minutes, and if they are not cooking evenly rotate the pan and cook for 11-13 minutes.
Once golden brown remove from the drum, place a Hershey’s Kiss in the center of each cookie and place them on a cooling rack.
They just might be better than cookies baked in the oven!
